What we do
Created to inspire communities, the Boon Boat Immersive Learning Hub is community group founded to support the South West region focusing on the Portland, Weymouth and Dorchester hubs in Dorset and communities across the Jurassic Coast.
By adapting our unlimited range Boon Boat Generation 1 floating platform, we have created a unique offering of bespoke community experiences supported by Portland Marina.. Our concepts encourage uptake and incentivise community interest in rapidly growing and emerging tech industries.

Our AIMS
To create
A regional community hub that promotes innovation with new immersive learning experiences across the areas of: health & wellbeing, technology, and Jurassic Coast history, geology and palaeontology - promoting UNESCO World Heritage Site Status.

Immerse yourself in the prehistoric wonders of the Jurassic Coast with our Augmented Reality (AR) Jurassic Sea Trail, inspired by the Jurassic World franchise. This unique experience transports you back to an era dominated by the majestic Pliosaurs, offering a window into the past where these colossal creatures once roamed the seas.

With Boon Boat as your vessel, venture into a realm where history and technology merge to recreate the ancient coastline. Up to 8 guests will be equipped with AR headsets, embarking on a cinematic audio tour that brings the ancient world to life. The experiences includes complimentary drinks, snacks, and a specially curated goodie bag.

Power management in real-time while in motion. Learn how the solar array gains power in different weather conditions. Students will grasp the fundamentals of tracking and managing energy flow and electric propulsion on the Gen 1 floating platform.

Small groups up to 8 persons. 45 minute sessions on Boon Boat across Portland Marina inner harbour. Suited to small tour groups and school visits.
Tsumiki wooden blocks workshop
Discover a unique form of sensory engagement through wood's textures, scents, and sounds. Enjoy the panoramic learning space within a Geodesic dome.
Tsumiki blocks promote creativity and encourage imagination by allowing for the construction of complex structures. Children will develop fine motor skills, problem-solving, team social skills and spatial awareness.
Enjoy fun weekly challenges with prizes by building to new heights. The floating platform in motion across the harbour simulates seismic activity to test structural integrity of designs.

Plein air floating paint workshops
A unique take on paint classes, you will venture across the marina to a suitable location with a GPS remote anchor. Take in a completely new perspective of the surrounding marine landscape with a spectacular backdrop for your next masterpience.

Floating Yoga Retreat

Immerse yourself on the zero emission floating sanctuary merging seamlessly with the tranquil beauty of the open water.
Escape into a tranquil world, surrounded by a panoramic seascape with views of Portland and distance white cliffs, beneath a hanging garden and solar shelter.
